This month we shared a workshop titled “The Alchemy of Perspective”.

In between the tides of change the gravity towards polarization can be high. Yet… the fractal edge of our evolution is occurring where opposing currents meet. How can we ride that edge? Be the bridge? In our hearts we desire to support our collective evolution towards what’s good, true, beautiful, …BETTER.

The first step is learning to embrace paradox and hold multiple perspectives simultaneously. We can each stand strong and firm in a belief AND ALSO open in compassionate curiosity to understanding another. When we feel strongly committed to our own view… we often want to oversimplify the story of the “other”.

At the heart is always where we begin.

If our view feels very emotional and urgent, simple or divisive (good vs bad, right vs wrong) we are not riding the fractal edge. These may be clues that we need to first feel more deeply into our own fears before attempting to communicate. From a fear based place we cannot influence another.

Nobody learns when emotioms are high.

So how do we get to a place that feels more neutral and less triggering so that we can more calmly and clearly explain our perspective in a way that others can truly hear and receive? Or soften, presence, and open to the complexity of views we have felt threatened by and therefore oversimplified?

We must learn to hold multiple perspectives…

Beginning with ourselves.

What inner divides are we unconsciously perpetuating?

If we cannot build our own bridges within and explore our own inner narratives, we will not be able to do so externally.
